The Day of Protest

Today, millions of Americans peacefully protested against our current Executive Branch occupant. Will the Supreme Court and Congress finally hear the cries of the people? Or will they continue to serve the person in the office of the President instead of the American People?

Mr. Trump is a convicted felon. He was convicted of crimes committed before he was President in 2016. He was a private citizen in 2024 when he was convicted, all be it, running for President at the time. However as soon as he was convicted he was disqualified to be running for office. He was not immune from anything, as he was a private citizen.

The Supreme Court overstepped their purpose by ruling on that case. The case should have been sent back to the lower courts. Many cases regarding the Executive Branch should not be allowed to be ruled by this Supreme Court, as they are not impartial to the Executive Branch. They are not keeping the Executive Branch in check and protecting the rights of the people.

The current Republican led Congress are a bunch of winey children who want to blame others for their own short falls. You cannot listen if you are talking. Republicans blaming Democrats, Democrats blaming Republicans. GET OVER YOURSELVES!

I swear we need better litmus tests these days for our public officials. The House Committee on Ways and Means is the group that creates the budget. That group of Representatives needs to be Budget Analysts, Accountants, and Economists. These people know how programs should be held accountable for spending and reimbursement. That will also ensure the National Budget has a better chance of being balanced.

We have no way of knowing if these people we are voting for are truly qualified to hold government office. I know a lot about political systems. How they are supposed to run, how the different levels of government can work together to create programs to make life better or worse for the people. I know how to analyze a program to determine its effects on the target population.

If I were in office, I probably could formulate policy, but that is not my wheel house. I study cause and effect. I look at populations in need and determine what would be beneficial. Get a pilot program into place, test it, find the benefits and disadvantages. Determine if there are possible factors that are harmful to society, put together final recommendations to present for expansion or modification for further study. At least that is what I have studied to do.

I digress… The point is, our current Congressional Representatives in both houses are an embarrassment. The Republicans spouting hateful things about their fellow citizens is deplorable. It is disrespectful. Respect is something these people have lost and it is something Mr. Trump has never had. He does not respect the American People. This lack of respect is spread throughout his followers. When you close your mind and heart to your fellow country men and women, you no longer have respect.

That is what Mr. Trump has brought to our country, disrespect. Well, The Childless Single Cat Lady says, I deserve respect! I give it to those who give it to me in return. Practice respect. Let’s see where it takes us.
